About Taste of Mauritius Spices

Malini, founder of Taste of Mauritius Catering (www.tasteofmauritius.ca), from the Island of Mauritius, is a descendant from a long line of outstanding cooks in her family where everything was made from scratch even down to the various spices grilled and ground before cooking. Growing up in such an environment in Mauritius, cooking with family who take pride in their culture and in preparing their traditional Mauritian Indian food, had a great influence on her as a child. It is that very exposure on the island that makes her appreciate the value of her culture and cuisine and that keeps her strongly connected to her roots. Embarking on the next phase to this journey here in Nova Scotia, Canada, of sharing the wonderful flavours and dishes from her world, with the the Taste of Mauritius SPICE LINE in November 2016, just seemed like the natural next step...
